workshop details

If the ego/personality is a stand-in for our true Self, the Super-Ego or Inner Critic is a stand in for our Conscience.

The Inner Critic is a powerful inner voice that monitors how we and others think, feel and act in the world. It judges, evaluates and assesses our thoughts, feelings and behaviors based on a set of standards and ideals of what it believes will make us okay or not okay. In our early childhood it developed as a voice of inner authority designed to keep us safe in the outer world and to keep our sense of inner identity in tact. As adults, the effect of the inner critic is primarily one of constraint on the freedom, creativity and passion of our authentic Self – our Soul. What often accompanies the inner critic is an atmosphere of shame and deficiency.

By penetrating this structure of our personality with awareness, compassion and curiosity, we will begin the process of reclaiming the strength, energy and aliveness that is part of the natural drive to be all that we can be.

Participants will be empowered to reclaim the presence, power and strength that is inherent in life itself and find practical methods for dealing with Inner Critic attacks that come from within and without.
